The Bad Windsheim Wine Tower Run has developed into one of the most significant sporting events in the district since its founding in 2001. Every year at the end of March, up to 1,200 athletes from the region and beyond gather to compete on the running courses in Bavaria's largest listed spa park and around the historic Wine Tower. Whether in the student and youth run over 2.2 km, the hobby run over 5.3 km, the walking event over 5.3 km, the 10 km run, or the half marathon – there is something suitable for every runner. Every step taken by the participants is for a good cause, as the proceeds from the event benefit social projects for children and young people in the region.
